Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m a newly licensed therapist?

Then this is the perfect place for you! Supervision is behind you, and you recognize the continued need for support in gaining insight and understanding into the clients you serve. Our groups are designed to serve those who are just starting out and those who’ve been around a while longer. We each have something valuable to contribute to each other.

Is this supervision or consultation?

Therapist Insight Groups are unique peer-to-peer meetings designed to help you better understand your clients and the therapy modalities you utilize. As a national group, we do not provide any feedback or direction regarding your local laws. Unlike supervision or consultation, there is no one therapist who is considered “the expert”. We are here to listen, share, and gain insight that will aid us in supporting our clients.

What if I’m not independently licensed yet?

Therapist Insight Groups welcome only independently licensed therapists (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, etc.) who no longer require supervision hours. We do require a copy of your license to participate in our meetings and do not accept coaching professionals. Please join us when you have obtained your independent license!

Do I have to work with a specific modality?

No. Although not guaranteed, we try to curate each group to have therapists who utilize a variety of modalities so that you have access to different ways of viewing clients in order to deepen the art we practice. Ever been curious about how a therapist who utilizes IFS or Somatic or DBT interventions would view your client? This is the place to find out.

How do you ensure client confidentiality?

Although we are not a supervision or consultation group, we follow the same usual and customary legal guidelines and practices to adhere to HIPPA standards. Every participant in Therapist Insight Groups will sign agreements to uphold HIPPA standards during our meetings and any other forms of communication associated with our groups.

How many therapists will be in each group?

We limit each group to 8-10 therapists, although not all will attend every meeting. We find this number creates a perfect balance between having diverse discussions while ensuring each person gets space to share if desired.

Do I have to attend every meeting of my group?

Attendance is not required, yet we encourage participants to attend at least once each month to foster group cohesion. Therapist Insight Group offers 2 meeting times every month for each group to offer flexibility and convenience. If you can’t attend your group’s meeting, there’s another opportunity to connect every month. Group success depends on active participation, so we hope you will utilize each opportunity to get support for your therapy practice!

What if I don’t feel my assigned group is a good fit?

This can happen for a variety of reasons and we want you to have a great experience here. Let us know if you would like to switch to another group, no questions asked!
